2024 Commencement Schedule
Wednesday, May 8
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Regalia and seating ticket pick-up in Southwestern Hall.
Thursday, May 9
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Seniors unable to pick-up regalia Wednesday should stop at Rhodes Express before 4:00 p.m. to retrieve.
Friday, May 10
9:30 a.m. Senior Class Picture
Assemble with caps and gowns in the Frazier Jelke Amphitheatre (in case of rain, Mallory Gymnasium).
10:00 a.m. Commencement Rehearsal
Commencement Rehearsal with Faculty Marshals and “Senior Toast” (official welcome to the Rhodes College Alumni Association). All seniors must be present, Hubert F. Fisher Memorial Garden (Bryan Campus Life Center in case of inclement weather).
3:10 p.m. Line Up for Baccalaureate
Assemble with caps and gowns for the Baccalaureate Service. Line up on the first floor corridor of the Bryan Campus Life Center.
3:30 p.m. Baccalaureate, Multi-Sports Forum, Bryan Campus Life Center
Seniors will wear caps and gowns. Seating tickets are required for family and friends to sit in the Multi-Sports Forum. Other guests may watch the ceremony from the McCallum Ballroom in the Bryan Campus Life Center. The ceremony will also be streamed from the Rhodes home page (rhodes.edu).
5:00 p.m. Mosaic Graduation Celebration, McCallum Ballroom, Bryan Campus Life Center
The Mosaic Graduation Celebration is a time for us to come together as a community to celebrate graduating seniors from underserved backgrounds. We want to intentionally celebrate our students of color, first-gen students, members of our cultural orgs, and MVP graduates. Reception to follow in the Lynx Lair.
Saturday, May 11
7:30 a.m. Line Up
Graduates assemble in Frazier Jelke Science Center. (See rain plan in case of inclement weather)
8:30 a.m. until approximately 11:00 a.m. CT
Commencement in Hubert F. Fisher Memorial Garden. (See rain plan in case of inclement weather)
Immediately following Commencement:
Commencement Celebration Reception
Graduates and their guests are invited to a join President Jennifer Collins and the Rhodes faculty in the Rollow Avenue of Oaks for a light reception. In case of inclement weather, the reception will be held in the Catherine Burrow Refectory.
Complimentary Professional Photography
Photographers will be set up in Fisher Garden and in the Cloister of Southwestern Hall to take photos of graduates and their families and friends. Approximately two weeks following Commencement, graduates will receive a link to all photos taken by the photographers. Downloads will be at no cost to the graduates.
