Professor Finley began teaching beginning and intermediate French at Rhodes in the spring 2020 semester, though she is no stranger to the Rhodes campus, having grown up a few blocks away from campus and moved back into the neighborhood after a decade or so in Nashville.
In her teaching, she especially loves to use collective storytelling to get students speaking, and her past teaching experience has included leading students on trips to France and Québec, as well as on in-state getaways for French immersion weekends.
In addition to teaching at Rhodes, Professor Finley works in anti-bribery/anti-corruption compliance, through which she researches and analyzes French-, Spanish-, Portuguese-, and English-language newspapers, websites, and legal documents in search of scandals, government connections, conflicts of interest, anti-competitive behavior, etc. in the course of compiling and editing due diligence reports for clients.
Professor Finley loves to spend her free time out in the garden with her husband, two daughters, and myriad animals.
