Erika Pope has been the Musical Arts Coordinator for the Rhodes College Department of Music since December 2016. Prior to becoming a staff member at Rhodes, she was a Senior Manager for Cinemark USA - Colonel Glenn 18 (formerly Rave Cinemas) in Little Rock, AR, and worked for two different Girl Scout Councils in Bryan/College Station, TX, and Memphis (Girl Scouts of Central Texas & Girl Scouts Heart of the South). For her undergraduate studies, Ms. Pope attended Henderson State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications with a focus in radio and television broadcasting and a minor in music.
Some of Ms. Pope’s main responsibilities as the Musical Arts Coordinator include managing the Music Office, overseeing the logistics for all Department of Music events, maintaining each of the campus music facilities, managing the departmental budget, and organizing the day-to-day operations of our part-time music professors.
Beyond her role at Rhodes College, since 2009, Ms. Pope has been a volunteer on the National Leadership Team for Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority and most recently had the opportunity to serve as the 39th National President for Tau Beta Sigma during the 2021-2023 biennium.
During her spare time, Ms. Pope enjoys traveling, running, visiting breweries, and she plays drums for various bands in both Memphis, TN, and Little Rock, AR.
