The official Rhodes student chapter of the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology is dedicated to promoting science education both on campus and within the Memphis community. Anyone is welcome to join, and club members have the additional option of obtaining official ASBMB membership, a few benefits of which include career-development resources, networking opportunities, awards and scholarships, and access to ASBMB scientific journals.
We regularly host a variety of events to foster interest and engagement in the sciences, including Undergraduate Research Talks, Candy Labs, and the Battle of the Science Majors. During our remote semester, we are adapting these events to a virtual setting and launching two new initiatives to help keep our members connected during this time: a monthly newsletter and an upperclassmen mentorship program.
