Nine Lynx Softball Players Recognized for Academic Excellence

Nine Lynx Softball players have been named to the NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list. They are Jessica Becher, Karissa Bowley, Jessica Brown, Megan Matthews, Madison Moreland, Chelsea Peters, Courtney Williams, Elise Suna and Kelli Zomer.
The NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolade is bestowed upon any player who achieved a 3.50 GPA or higher during the 2011-12 academic year.
The individuals honors come on the heels of Rhodes College Softball being named one of the top overall academic teams in the nation, tied for #33 among all D3 institutions.
Peters, a graduated senior, also saw her name appear on the 2012 CoSIDA Capital One Academic First Team All-District list.
