Bell Named To 2012 Capital One Academic All-District® Women′s Basketball Team

Rhodes senior guard Sharwil Bell has been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District® Women′s Basketball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bell, who maintains a 3.94 GPA as a biology major, was named to the District V first-team.
Bell is being recognized as one of the nation′s top student-athletes for her combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to Capital One Academic All-America® team ballot where first-team, second-team and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

There is no student athlete that I′ve seen in the last 25 years watching Lynx athletics more deserving of this honor than Sharwil Bell. I′ve had the honor to serve on a committee with Ms. Bell last year. She is remarkably talented young person as recognized in the classroom or on the basketball court. Well done, Ms. Bell!
