Faris Al-Shathir ’03 Is Featured In New York Times for Design Work

Rhodes alumnus and designer Faris Al-Shathir is featured in The New York Times about his nonprofit group Boffo that repurposes spaces and fosters collaborations among artists, designers, communities, theorists, and the media. He graduated from Rhodes in 2003 with a B.A. in art.
The article calls Al-Shathir a “creative matchmaker, pairing young fashion designers with emerging architects,” and says for the last two years, he has “popped up around New York, transforming oddly configured or forgotten spaces into architecturally stunning retail installations.”
