Ryan Call ’05 Wins National Writing Prize

Rhodes alumnus Ryan Call is one of 10 writers from across the country to receive the 2011 Whiting Awards. Established in 1985, the program awards a large monetary prize to recipients and honors writers of exceptional talent and promise in fiction, nonfiction, poetry and playwriting.
Call is author of the short story collection, The Weather Stations. He graduated from Rhodes in 2005 with a B.A. in English, and he also holds an M.F.A. in creative writing from George Mason University.
