New Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature Team Forms at Rhodes
Publication Date: 9/19/2011
Rhodes is proud to announce the formation of a new Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature (TISL) team, a program that allows students of any major to gain hands-on experience in state government.
Students can choose to participate in either the legislative, executive, or judicial branches by writing and debating bills, running for office, or serving on an appellate moot court team, respectively. Additionally, students can act as a lobbyist or journalist throughout the legislative process.
The TISL team will prepare for months in various realms of politics for an annual competition at the state capitol in Nashville.
Those interested in learning more about TISL at Rhodes can contact Betsy Swann ’14 at swaer@rhodes.edu.
