Publication Date: 2/3/2011
The Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center has named the following Rhodes students 2010 Volunteers of the Year: Ai Doan ’11, Grier Haney ’11, Sarah Bacot ’13, Catherine Rauck ’11, Johnathan Payne ’12 and Matt Tamason ’11. Also Rhodes alumna Whitney Warren ’10 was named a 2010 Volunteer of the Year.
Collectively, these students logged hundreds of hours staffing the center, working at special events such as the Cooper Young Festival and Outflix Film Festival, engaging other students to work on advocacy, and assisting with cataloging and database entry work.
Says MGLCC Executive Director Will Batts, “MGLCC could not succeed without the dedication of volunteers such as these students. We sincerely appreciate their support!”
