John M. Planchon joined the Rhodes faculty in 1986 after holding appointments at The University of Alabama, the University of Missouri, Columbia, and with McCann Erickson Worldwide. He holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from The University of Alabama, a M.A. in Journalism, and a B.A. in Political Science from The University of Missouri, Columbia. His major interests lie in strategic marketing, cross-cultural marketing strategies, and the study of consumer information acquisition and processing. He developed and supervises a summer program for Rhodes students in international branding taught in Antwerp, Belgium and Reims, France. He is actively involved in strategic marketing consulting and is the author of many scholarly research articles. He is a fellow of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and the American Marketing Association.
